Buyers ask for help from CM yogi aditya nath......builder done fraud of 14Cr so buyer book a FIR against him but police not ready to investigate
A construction contractor alleged that a private builder used his strongmen to beat him up at Abhay Khand in Indirapuram on Monday. An FIR has been registered in the case at Indirapuram police station and three persons have been detained.
According to the contractor Bharat Bhushan Bharadwaj, builders Gaursons India Limited failed to pay him `4.5 crore for construction work completed by him in April 2015.
“In 2011, I had taken the contract from builders Gaurson India Limited for Gaur City 2 project in Noida extension. After I completed the work in April 2015, they refused to pay the `4.5 crore due. Several attempts to reach them over the past one year have proved futile as the director refuses to take my calls or meet me,” said Bharadwaj of Niti Khand 2.
He added that he has written to all senior authorities in the city informing them about the alleged fraud, but there has been no response. Ultimately, he decided to hold a sit-in outside the builder’s corporate office at Gaur Biz Park in Abhay Khand 2, Indirapuram, on Monday
“I sat outside the office with 20 of my family and friends at around 8 am. However, the builder did not come to meet us once and sent his strongmen thrice between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm. They roughed us up the first two times and finally beat us up. We have all been injured, including my elderly mother and father,” said Bharadwaj.
However, according to Gaursons India Limited, no payments to the contractor are pending.
“The incident that took place near our office has nothing to do with us. It is between a contractor and his sub-contractors and workers. We have always been prompt and all payments have been cleared on time,” said Vipin Modi, president of sales and marketing, Gaursons India Limited.
Meanwhile, the police lodged an FIR in the case and detained three persons.
“The whole incident was recorded in a CCTV camera installed nearby. According to the complaint of the contractor and the CCTV footage, three men employed with Gaursons India Limited have been detained,” said Gorakhnath Yadav, station house officer, Indirapuram police station.
Developers asked to stop construction, sale; move to affect hundreds of buyers
In a major setback to developers and home buyers, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has asked 17 developers to stop construction work and sale of flats with immediate effect.
The authority earlier had cancelled building maps of 17 group housing projects owned by Jaypee Infratech, Gaursons, Orris Group, VGA Developers and Ajnara Group.
“Out of 17 projects, 11 belong to Jaypee Infratech, two are of Gaursons and one each is owned by Ajnara, Orris Group and VGA Developers. The projects are located in Sector 19, 25 and 22B located along the Yamuna Expressway,” Yamuna Expressway Authority CEO Arunveer Singh said.
No sale of flats
“We have directed all developers not to carry out any kind of construction work and sale of flats. We have formed teams to watch these projects. If any developer is found ‘guilty’ then stringent action will be taken,\\\\\\\" Singh added.
The Yamuna Expressway Authority had cancelled the building maps of the 17 group housing projects last month as the developers had allegedly not got the map approved within specific time.
“The builders have sold out flats to home-buyers without getting requisite approvals,” a senior official of YEIDA said.
The move is set to affect hundreds of home buyers, who have made investments in these projects.
Notably on April 15, the Yamuna Expressway Authority had cancelled five housing projects of Jaypee Infratech in Sports City East since the developer allegedly sold the flats without getting the building plans approved.
Objection to plan
Gaursons’ projects are spread over 87,756 square meters and 215 square meters in Sector 19, its Yamuna City Mega Township proposed on 250 acres land along the Yamuna Expressway. VGA developers has 20,071 square meters land in Sector 25, Orris Group has 8,19,105 square meters land in Sector 22D and Ajnara has 85,391 square meters land in Sector 22A.
“The developers had submitted their maps in 2015-16 and the authority raised objections in those maps. Without resolving those objections, the developers kept selling the flats in their projects. I have issued notices to each developer asking them to submit details of flats sold and money that has been collected from the investors,” the official added.
When asked if the Authority passed any developer’s building plan after the cancellation, Mr. Singh said, “So far the authority has not sanctioned any developer’s building plan after cancellation.”
